Ruth Ann Sturgill
 
Born and raised in Ohio, Ruth Ann started her painting career in 1987, after years of creating award-winning edible art as a professional cake decorator. She continues to garner awards, now with her paintings.
 
Although Ruth Ann paints mostly in oils with people as the subject, she also works in watercolors, painting a wide variety of subjects including florals, still-lifes, and landscapes.
 
Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections. The artist also has a number of pieces that are a part of the permanent collection of The White House, and one that is
in the permanent collection of the Governor's Residence , in Ohio.
 
The artist currently has three limited edition prints available for purchase, "Sweet Dreams", "Brotherly Love" and "Earth Angel".
 
She has traveled across the U.S. and Canada teaching workshops and is currently studying techniques used by the Old Masters.
 
Her hobbies include photography, sewing, quilting, and home renovation. She enjoys spending time with her three children, six grandchildren, and her husband of 34 years, Claude.
 
Ruth Ann is a member of The Portrait Society of America, Lima Area Watercolor Society, West Central Art League, Findlay Art League, a founding member of The Potpourri of Painters Society, and recently formed a new art group, the Visual Arts Network
