“Art around the World”

 
Come travel with us around the world!  Every month we will explore a new country and their influences in art to create you own masterpiece! 
 
September: “Native American Art”
We’ll travel around North America to learn about several Native American tribes’ traditions and how their artwork can tell stories of nature and adventure.
 
October: “Egyptian Art”
We’ll travel to Egypt to explore the pyramids, discover hieroglyphs, mummies and more!
 
November: “South American Art”
We’ll travel to South America to discover ancient civilizations and how their art has influenced our modern age.
 
December: “European Art”
This month we’ll travel across the Atlantic Ocean to Italy, France, and Germany to discover how their classic influences in architecture, painting, and sculpture are still used to today.
 
January: “East Asian Art”
Celebrate the New Year when we travel to East Asia to China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan to learn about their ancient and modern traditions shown through their artwork.
 
February: “African Art”
This month we’ll travel through the beautiful terrain of Africa.  We’ll learn the traditions and celebrations of African countries in mask-making, textiles, and sculptures.
 
March: “Scandinavian & Russian Art”
Travel with us to the Scandinavian Peninsula to Norway, Finland, and Sweden, and then to their neighboring country, Russia.  We’ll learn about classic art styles as well as their traditional folk art.
 
April: “Middle East-Asian Art”
We’ll travel to several countries near the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Sea, such as Turkey, Jordan, Iran, Pakistan, and India.
 
May: “Australian Art”
Come to the “land down under” in Australia!  We’ll be learning about Aboriginal art, their unique style of painting, and how they portray animals and nature in their artwork.

The Findlay Art League is proud to
offer a variety of youth art classes. 
Each month covers a new theme and
explores new art techniques and media. 
This season’s theme will be “Art around
the World.”  Each month the class will
travel to a new country, creating exciting
projects with various media, such as
drawing, painting, sculpture, printing,
clay and more!

 

 

Kinder Kids & Kin 2008-09

“Art around the World”

 

Looking for something fun for both you and your child to experience together?  This program is for both you and the child to create art and have fun expressing yourselves in a project you can take home and admire together.  Classes meet the third Saturday of every month.  Each month explores a new theme and new project to learn.  This year’s topic is, “Art around the World.”  You both will be learning about a new country or culture every month and create a fun and wonderful masterpiece!
 
Time: 10:30am-11:30am
