The Findlay Art League became an Art Job Fair on Sunday, July 3 from 1:00-3:00 when participants from the Children's Summer Workshop demonstrated various art careers. On display were paintings, sculptures, flower arrangements, model buildings, graphic designs, portraits and caricatures, jewelry, and stage sets. Some of the work had been done during the Summer Workshop, June 19 - 29, and some created by participants in the After School Art Program during the past school year. Visitors were encouraged to purchase works of art, and children happily created caricatures, face paintings, and (marker) tatoos--for a price. The gallery buzzed with happy activity as the job fair progressed, and children tallied their earnings. At the end of the day, each participant was given his or her pay envelope, and complimented on the quality of their work.
Teachers for the Summer Workshop were Andrea Adams-Miller and Amanda Allshouse. Andrea is planning another Art Job Fair to begin July 30. See the Classes page for more information.
